Swim School Programme
For children 5 years and up and all abilities are catered for - beginners, stroke improvement and advanced. This comprehensive program develops a wide range of skills to ensure children are competent in all strokes, water safety and survival. Classes are based on skill and ability not age. Classes focus on technique development. Distance is introduced at the higher levels.
Seals
This class is designed for beginners who may have a fear of the water and are not confident to submerge. The aim is to develop water confidence and water safety skills.
Hectors
The aim of the class is for students to progress to develop streamline kicking on front and back over 6 metres and water safety skills.
Duskys
The aim of the class is for students to develop their freestyle and backstroke arm action over 8-10 metres and water safety skills.
Spinner
The aim of this class is to introduce and master breathing over 12 metres.
Bottlenose
The aim of the class is for students to develop freestyle with breathing and master backstroke over 17 metres. Breaststroke kick and arm action is introduced at this level.
Shark
The aim of this level is to master controlled freestyle and backstroke over 25 metres and further develop breaststroke.
Orca
The aim of the class is for students to master stroke technique and distance with freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke over 50 metres. Further develop individual water survival skills.
100 Metres
Develop freestyle and backstroke endurance over 100 metres and other stroke drills introduced. The aim of the class is for students to continue to receive stroke correction on freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke over this distance.
200 Metres
The aim of this level is to provide students with skills and technique to achieve 200m freestyle, 100m backstroke, mastering 25m breaststroke, tumble turns, an introduction to butterfly and water safety skills. Along with lane training skills and increased endurance.
Classes run for 40 minutes.
